Hush: True Stories of Pregnancy-Related Death & Near-Miss in the U.S.A. (Amazon, October 2022)
Interviews with women who survived harrowing near-miss experiences due to complications of childbirth, postpartum and medical error, and with partners who lost their wives in childbirth. Gut-wrenching, deeply personal, and painful truths about their experiences, the care and support they got (or did not get), and how they turned grief into purpose. This book examines without judgment the patient and their partner’s perspective.
Featured in print in Glamour and Good Housekeeping, in television and online media with L’Oréal-Paris, Voice of America, KSKA, KUOW, WBUR, and the Huffington Post, Anne is a sought-after motivational speaker. Selected as one of the 2007, L’Oréal-Paris Women of Worth, they invited her back in 2008 to serve as a judge. In 2018, Good Housekeeping selected Anne as one of “Ten Women Who Live to Save Lives.” Anne is the proud mother of four sons – Jonathan, Sebastian, Kieran, and Gabriel. She has her bachelor’s in Fine Arts and a master’s in Education and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) for Alaska Public Media.
